The Memorial to the Victims of Totalitarianism is a private and nonprofit initiative. We consider the Memorial as an international event. Our goals are to perpetuate the memory of the victims of totalitarianism, renew the international discussion on totalitarianism and dictatorship, and educate society on the history of totalitarian regimes and their formation. 

We want to make the Memorial the central part of the historical and educational complex dedicated to the problems of dictatorships, totalitarianism, and democracy worldwide. All this is done to prevent similar tragedies in the future and preserve freedom for future generations. 

We need every possible help in creating and constructing this Memorial and in educational activities against the evils of totalitarianism. We have described below the types of assistance that will be useful to us. If you want to participate in another way or have any suggestions - we would be grateful if you contact us.

The location of the Memorial is significant. It is the starting point of the entire project. We expect to achieve a great public response and many visitors. The Memorial must be located in a large city, a capitol, or a famous historical place for these purposes. It could be an existing city square or a square in a new or rebuilt area, such as old docks or piers turning into cultural centers and recreational areas like it is in New York. We can also consider a park area or an exhibition area of ​​a big city. Your help may be to find and propose such sites to us. Alternatively, connect us with the authorities of the territories and cities interested in such a Memorial. Or to convey the idea of ​​the Memorial and its importance so they become interested. Please help us find a home for the Memorial.

You can contribute to this project if you are a professional architect, engineer, or artist. If you have an opportunity to take part in the projecting part, or can create a complete memorial project on your own or with the architectural bureau, we need your help to develop the project. Also, you can take part in finalizing the art and sculpturing part of the Memorial, proposing your vision. If you are a production company that can help us produce the Memorial or know such a company - please contact us.

It takes several handshakes to make it real. In the meantime, we need much media coverage and public discussion to let us find support, financing, and a home for the Memorial. Getting great publicity is only possible with public persons supporting us and writing about the Memorial, whom we would refer to on our site and in our materials. If you are a journalist, celebrity, opinion leader, blogger, historian, political figure, or any other public person, and if you share our values - please contact us so that we can discuss ways for you to increase awareness for this project.

We greatly appreciate direct assistance and participation in the Memorial project. However, in order for us to be able to build it, we need funding. If all people of good will make a feasible contribution to the financing of the project, we will raise enough money for the construction of the Memorial. 

Though the approximate budget is a vast amount of money for ordinary people, our demands are small at the scale of state organizations' and brands' sponsorship budgets. Therefore, we ask if you have connections in government organizations related to political, architectural, and educational activities, responsible brands, and patrons - to help us find funding from them.

Now the approximate budget for The Memorial's development and construction is around $3 MLN. The final cost depends on many things such as the number of hands, construction site features, the place of production, country and the city where The Memorial will be located.
